Route 2 out of Wellington and back over the Rimutaka Pass (sunny) but unfortunately the fire department was recovering a car that went over the guard rail, don’t believe they survived. Next catching Route 53 out of Featherston to Martinborough, beautiful wine country. From Martinborough we follow the Masterton Road to Masterton next Castlepoint Road to…….. I am going to let you guess on this one?
Pretty much farm land throughout and an easy ride to Castlepoint. Into Castlepoint caravan site where it was dry, warm and I was the only one there with a tent. Castlepoint must be quite the spot to be during the summer months as it has everything you need in this very small community that sits right on the beach.
