October 23 Te Araroa to Gisborne
It rained from midnight until 0700hrs but with the prevailing wind, the tent and gear was dry within an hour. Thoughts were to head for the East Cape Lighthouse, gravel road, but Mother Nature had other ideas with heavy cloud cover, rain and wind. And the question to yourself at this juncture, do I really need to go through this BS for a picture of the lighthouse? It was back to the sealed road and follow the coast to Gisborne. The ride and scenery down to Gisborne was worth every bit of it. I just wish the weather had been a bit on the sunny side as the East Cape is worth a longer stay. Gisborne and another caravan site for the night.
