October 7-8 Kaimaumau to Marsden Bay

From Kaimaumau it’s back down to Ahipara, the start of the Ninety Mile Beach. From there it was to Kohukohu catching the ferry to Rawene. The thinking was that I would continue through the Waipoua Forest to Dargaville then across to Marsden. But as I got a late start and not really knowing where I was going, it was to Kaikone then south on the Mangakahia Road. South of Whangarei and catching the Whangarei Heads Road to Marsden Bay. Once into Marsden and the Ulysses camp site, the tent was up and it was party time. At this juncture I became a member of the Ulysses Club minus mucho dollars to support their drinking habits over the next 5 years
